Creative Corner

Nursery - Year 1

5 Disciplines

  • Art

  • Dance

  • Drama

  • Film and Digital Media

  • Music

This zone predominantly develops artistic skills, as many of the other expressive arts disciplines are often explored through other subjects and learning zones. For example, drama is used across the curriculum to deepen pupils’ understanding of different areas of learning, while digital media is primarily taught through the Digital Zone.

The Creative Zone also provides opportunities for children to showcase their understanding through their chosen expressive arts discipline. For example, within their ‘Passion Projects’, children may select from the five disciplines to creatively present and communicate their learning through a range of engaging challenges.
